CSRS Delegation Met with Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

A delegation from the Center for Strategic and Regional Studies (CSRS), including Dr. Shah Rukh Sohaib Raufi, Director-General of the Center, Mr. Modaser Islami and Mr. Hekmatullah Zaland, Members of the Center’s Academic Council, met with Dr. Zakir Jalaly Director of the Third Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Waliullah Shaheen, Director of the Center for Strategic Studies (CSS) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday, May 21, 2022.

The purpose of the meeting was strengthening cooperation between the two centers and in general between the Center for Strategic and Regional Studies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Sohaib Raufi gave a brief overview of the activities of the Center for Strategic and Regional Studies and said that the organization wants to play a positive role in national issues and strengthening the current system.

Afterwards, the members of the academic council of CSRS, Mr. Modaser Islami and Mr. Hekmatullah Zaland, also pointed out the importance and some aspects of the cooperation between the two sides.

Dr. Waliullah Shaheen, Director of the Center for Strategic Studies, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, praised the work and programs of CSRS and said that the Center for Strategic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry as a whole would spare no effort to cooperate with CSRS.

Dr. Zakir Jalaly, Director of the Third Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in his remarks called the possibility of joint cooperation under the umbrella of the current system a good opportunity and promised all kinds of cooperation.

The CSRS delegation also gave some of its publications to the other side and both sides promised to share all of their publications with each other.

At the end of the meeting, CSRS delegation promised to share a draft of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Center for Strategic Studies (CSS) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to regulate bilateral cooperation between CSRS and CSS, and such meetings would be continued for strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two centers.
