Undeclared war of Pakistan

In addition to other issues, Pakistan and Afghanistan has started negotiation about the ongoing issue of digging in the so-called Durand Border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, and the missile strikes of Pakistan on the eastern parts of Afghanistan. In which status Afghanistan is located due to the mentioned ongoing activities of Pakistan? And what are the reasons behind the weaknesses of Afghan government for not taking any reaction against Pakistan?

The reaction of existing foreign forces in Afghanistan:

With the existence of foreign forces in Kunar Province, the missile strikes of Pakistan on the eastern parts of Afghanistan started about two and a half years ago. After a long time of silence, the chief of foreign forces declared that they were not aware of the missile strikes on Afghan territory.

The silence of foreign forces toward the missile strikes of Pakistan on Afghanistan caused the relationship of Hamid Karzai and Barak Obama to enter to a darken stage. It also created the question in the minds of Afghan nation that why Afghan National Army does not show any reaction toward the missile strikes of Pakistan on the Afghan territory? The answer for the question was unpleasant: the Afghan National Army does not have access to long-range weapons to show any reaction against it.

Rumor of an alliance between U.S. and Pakistan:

While the U.S. decided to attack the Taliban and Al-Qaida in Afghanistan in 2001, the two neighboring countries of Afghanistan, namely Pakistan and Iran, gave hands of friendship to U.S. in the war. There is not reliable information about the demands of Iran from U.S. in return of assisting it in the war, but there are rumors about the three main demands of Pakistan from U.S. in assisting it in the removal of the Taliban’s regime from Afghanistan:

  1. The activities and rule of India must be limited in the future of Afghanistan.
  2. There should not be dams made on the rivers that go toward Pakistan.
  3. The Afghan Security Forces must be equipped to struggle only against domestic challenges.

If we see the international community aids in last thirteen years from various perspective, it seems that the rumor is true. U.S. tried to keep the relationship of Afghanistan and India within limits to keep Pakistan convinced. Even, while Afghanistan asked India for long-range weapons, India rejected it in a peaceful manner.

In last thirteen years no foundational project is implemented in Afghanistan, spatially dams, and the Afghan Security Forces are also not equipped with long-range weapons, up to the extent that last year President Karzai ordered that the old damaged weapons with the Afghan National Army should be fixed for usage in war.

Afghan Air Force:

Air force of a country is one of the most significant parts of the overall forces. And it is clear that the army of a country without the support of air force is useless.

But, U.S. not only did not equip the air force of Afghanistan, but also the one of Iraq. Before the Gulf War, the Iraqi air force was extremely equipped, which a part of it was destroyed by U.S. during the Gulf War, and the remaining part was sent to other countries, by Saddam Hussain, to be kept during the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, but those countries seized the mentioned equipment.

Though, during the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan, Afghanistan lacked combat aircrafts, but the first step of U.S. invasion of Afghanistan started from Kabul International Airport, as the result of which some of Ariana Afghan Airways’ passengers’ planes were destroyed. The helicopters that were hidden by the Taliban, before the U.S. invasion, were also pointed and destroyed by U.S.

By the time, the Taliban activated a radar device in Bibi Mahro Hill, but in the earliest hours of the attack it was destroyed, which was also a part of the U.S. plans for the future of Afghanistan.

Earlier it was told that U.S. will equip the Afghan Air Force with the latest air force equipment, but after thirteen years it is clear that the U.S. did not have such a decision about the Afghan Air Force. Iraq, which is financially richer compared to Afghanistan, had the ability to purchase some second hand aircrafts from Russia, which they did lately, but U.S. provided some old and damaged “Babary” aircrafts to Afghanistan that most of them are out of order, and purchased a few helicopters from Russia.

The inability of the retort:

The Afghan Government repeatedly threatened that if Pakistan attacks Afghanistan, the Afghan Armed Forces will retort. But in a recent meeting of the minister of interior from the Upper House of the country, the minister declared something strange that the president twice ordered attacks against the Pakistani counter-attacks, but it will not work. Why it will not work he did not know about it, the minister of interior said.

Complaint to the U.N. Security Council:

It is said that as the last resort, the Afghan Government have to submit a complaint against Pakistan to the United Nation Security Council. But it does not seem to be influential, because the permanent members of the U.N.S.C. have military existence in Afghanistan and up to date they even did not argue with Pakistan about the issue. So how can Afghanistan expect a solution for the issue from the United Nation Security Council?!
