Killing of Journalists is attack on freedom of speech in the country
Waheed Muzhda, an Afghan political analyst, was assassinated on November 20 in Kabul when at least one unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle attacked him in the PD6 area close to the Russian embassy, No group has claimed responsibility for Mr. Muzhda’s assassination yet, but the Interior Ministry has said the case is under police investigation. Mr. Muzdah was polite and modest with no personal antagonism; he was a well-known author and analyst with the Center for Strategic and Regional Studies and also participated in academic meetings. This analysis implicit with the life of Waheed Muzhda, the journalistic services and the factors behind his assassination, along with the status of freedom of expression in the country.
A heinous event and the widespread reaction
The killing of Ahmad Vaheed Muzdah, a political and media activist in Afghanistan has prompted official reactions from heads of state and remarks by a number of prominent political figures. In a statement condemning the assassination of Ahmad Waheed Muzdah, Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani ordered security agencies to take action to identify the perpetrators. In a statement condemning the assassination of Ahmad Wahid Mojdah, the press office of the Afghan government’s chief executive said in a statement that the perpetrators of the assassination were enemies of peace and should be identified and punished as soon as possible. Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai has also condemned the assassination of Ahmad Waheed Muzdah, saying that the recent terrorist attacks on political figures and analysts are a new dimension of war crimes and human crimes against the Afghan people. But the news of the killing has had a great impact on the Afghan social media, with a number of positive effects and a few negative comments about Mastery’s personality and campaign. In turn, the Center for Strategic and Regional Studies, in collaboration with the Writers’ Union and the Journal of Gheiz, organized a meeting on November 28, 2010 with dozens of social and cultural figures in the country to honor the good news. Extensive reactions to the assassination of Vaheed Muzdah show that he has been an effective element in Afghanistan’s political and media spheres and has played a significant role in the Afghan media family and peace efforts in the country. As in most reactions to the assassination of Ahmad Vaheed Muzdah, his efforts to establish peace and end the war in Iraq have been cited. Professor Mohammed Musa Farivar, a professor at Kabul University, said in response to the news of the assassination: “The intelligence of the region is trying to blur the country’s glittering living space by removing elite elements in every area, to reach the brightness, To block growth and progress. Ahmad Wahid Muzdah was an active element in the free media flow and reflected many of the facts behind Afghanistan’s political and social developments. “Ahmad Vaheed Muzdah’s constant emphasis on his analysis and interviews with various domestic and foreign media on the need for US and NATO troops to withdraw from Afghanistan in recent years showed that he was opposed to the US presence and the security pact with the US in his country. Enlightenment of the unfortunate and irreparable consequences of the continued presence of foreign troops in Afghanistan made no effort.
Who was Ahmad Waheed muzdah?
Ahmad Waheed Muzdah was born in 1332 in Baghlan province in northern Afghanistan into a cultured, educated and intellectual family. He completed his elementary education in Baghlan and high school at Habibia High School in Kabul and received a BBA in Economics from Kabul University in 1976. He was forced to emigrate to Pakistan and Iran after the communist coup. There he was involved in the cultural, political, and military sectors of jihad and participated in armed jihad against the Soviet Union. He immigrated to Iran after a while, stayed in Mashhad for a while and then moved to Tehran, where he began cultural activities in favor of the Mojahedin and the invasion of the Red Army and its puppet government. Although he had left Tehran for Bandar Abbas (Iran’s other province) for some time and was pursuing economic activities in Bandar Abbas, his life was short lived and focused more on cultural activities. After several years of cultural activities in Iran, he immigrated to Peshawar and began working at the Office of Guidance and Culture of one of the major jihadist parties. The good news was published for years in the testimony, Hope, Jihad, and other refugee publications. In addition to journalism and cultural affairs in the migrant environment, Muzdah was also honored to participate in the historic jihad against Russian occupiers in different provinces of the country. After the victory, the Mojahedin entered Kabul and continued their free cultural work. Mr. Mojdah was hired at the State Department under Rabbani, who remained there until the end of the Taliban rule. After 9/11 and the US invasion of Afghanistan and the fall of the Islamic Emirate, Mr. Mojdeh remained in Kabul and continued his cultural activities as an independent expert. Mr. Mojdeh had been in charge of the news agency for some time, but after the dissolution of the news agency he continued to work independently and personally. Mr. Muzdah had extensive relations with all government factions, the Mujahideen, and the Taliban, and his writings and suspensions were published in many publications. Wahid Muzdah was a prominent political expert and media activist in Afghanistan who, while critical of the Afghan government, opposed the presence of US troops in Afghanistan that the Taliban were practically fighting against. This shared with the Taliban has also made supported Muzdah a soft corner against the Taliban in his analysis and praise some of their actions. Something that was unpleasant to some politicians and some young people. The good news was the realization of peace and security in the country, and as such, he was present at most meetings and consultations for peace at home and abroad as an expert. He attended the Afghan Peace Summit hosted by the Russian Government in Moscow on May29 and 30, 2018, with representatives of Afghan political and party figures, and continued to live in Afghanistan for the rest of his life Tried. Martyr Muzdah, along with hundreds of articles on dozens of pure poems and numerous radio and television interviews; a book entitled “Afghanistan and the Five Years of Taliban Domination” and another book on Iranian-Afghan political relations that has remained a focus of political and cultural activists in the country.
Freedom of expression in the danger
The assassination of political analyst Ahmed Wahid Muzdah showed that freedom of expression in Afghanistan is becoming more and more restricted. The world has embraced modern Afghanistan because of a constitution that has enshrined freedom of expression and the right to vote, and this right and value is now being violated. Freedom of expression is gradually curtailing today, today analysts and writers in the country are being killed and killed by unknown addresses. We call on the government to protect this right of people (freedom of expression) by establishing a constitution. When we say we want peace by preserving 18-year-old achievements, it means that our greatest achievement is a constitution in which the right to freedom of thought, expression, and assembly is enshrined; what will we be proud of?
A humble Request
Ahmad Waheed muzdah has been active in the backdrop of the peace debate for the past few months; he was literally an expert on peace and sound issues in the country’s media and political community. He was very aware of the developments in the region and the world and the stories behind the scenes, and he dared to make them public through the media. So his murder can be justified in this respect. Although the people of Afghanistan have been tired of war and security for four decades in the country, they demand immediate and unconditional peace; unfortunately there are thugs inside and outside the system who have opposed this popular demand for peace and security. They find the country at odds with their personal interests and their group interests and so they are against it. It is difficult to say who Ahmad Wahid Muzdah was defeated by and by whom, but one thing is certain and that the Afghan government is committed to protecting the lives of the country’s cultural and social figures, especially those who have a critical view of the country. They are indifferent to the work of the Kurds. While some of the country’s cultural and journalistic figures have been targeted before the Good News, no serious action has been taken to detect and punish the perpetrators. While the government is committed to protecting the lives, property and dignity of its citizens seriously, the country’s intellectual capital cannot be easily eliminated. The Good News was a committed and patriotic man, and, like any other human being, one might disagree with some of his thoughts, but differences of opinion could never mean the killing or purification of one’s body. We call on the Government of Afghanistan to follow up on the brutal assassination incident of Professor Muzdah, to find the perpetrators and to bring them to justice, because this terrible phenomenon will be repeated, if not prevented. The Afghan High Commission for Human Rights and the United Nations Office in the country also has a responsibility to cooperate with the Afghan government in detecting and punishing perpetrators of this heinous crime. We also urge the journalist unions and cultural associations of the country to pay close attention to the collection and dissemination of the poetry and prose works of one of their dedicated colleagues for the benefit of future generations. The journalist was committed to peaceful coexistence and freedom of expression, so his assassination is an attack on peace and freedom of expression. The blackout against this crime is in fact the legitimacy of war and crime and the killing of more Afghans until it is unknown. And the last word left by Professor Ahmad Waheed muzdah along with an oppressed widow, a girl and a boy, is that we all share a common passion for their healthy upbringing and helping them complete their educational journey.
